Estate Agents: How has business been for you this year?

Well, 2020 is almost over – and what a year it’s been so far!

Who would have thought back in January when we had a whole bright new year to look forward to, that we would find ourselves dealing with a global coronavirus pandemic that has affected every one of us in some way or another.

I have spoken with so many people this year who on the stroke of midnight vowed that 2020 would be their year.

And do you know what? Despite it being such a challenging year for everyone, I am genuinely astounded by the number of new businesses – in particular estate agents – who have started up during the pandemic and managed to make a success of it through sheer determination, belief and effort.

I launched Content for Estate Agents one year ago last week!

Like so many others, my new business was in its infancy when coronavirus hit hard.

I’ve actually been in business for more than 15 years, but Content for Estate Agents is a new addition to my content services, and I had put so much thought, desire, time and effort into it, that failing wasn’t an option.

So, it’s even more poignant for me this year to look back on everything I’ve done in the past year and how much has been achieved.

Content For Estate Agents has grown so much these past 12 months and I am incredibly grateful for the kindness and support shown to me by those in the property industry.

But, what I’m really interested to know is what has happened in your business during the last 365 days?

It took me ages to come up with everything eventful that has happened to me this year…and I’m pretty sure it will be the same for you! But I managed to narrow down my highlights, and I thought I’d share those with you.

When you’ve finished reading, please share your highlights with me!

Here are the top three highlights of 2020 for me…

#1: Welcoming my very first subscriber to Content For Estate Agents!

After all the hard work of building a new website, it was so exciting (not to mention a huge relief) when my very first customer signed up. As I’m sure you have experienced yourself, the butterflies that day were immense, that fear of failure never far from my thoughts. But I can honestly say that the way Content For Estate Agents was received blew all my expectations out of the water. And I knew then that I could make it a success.

#2: Speaking to Estate and lettings Agents every single day!

I’m a people person! I love a good old chat and I like to think that I’m a friendly, easy-going individual. Talking on the phone with agents is definitely one of the highlights of 2020. And if I’m honest, with the Government advising that we should work from home, and agents embracing virtual viewings and valuations, it was actually rather nice to finally be able to reach those agents that would usually be out and about. I’ve had some fantastic conversations this year and learned so much. What’s more, by speaking with agents I’ve been able to launch additional services that have been requested. My area guides and e-guides have proved super popular and I am enjoying creating them!

#3: My biggest highlight…so far

There’s still time for this one to be topped, with another 16 days of the year left to go, but receiving so much feedback from happy, satisfied agents and knowing that my content is making a difference to your reputation is incredible and is really what makes it all worthwhile. I have a genuine desire to help estate and lettings agents become bigger, better and to assist in continuing to build reputations, so it makes me happy when agents see the positive outcome.

Wow, what an incredible year!

I am so grateful for everything that has happened in my business in 2020! Don’t forget to do your own yearly reflection too – I want to hear all about it 😊 Also, if you would like to chat with me about your content goals for 2021 please book a call here
